Why not access some of this funding for yourself?
What is Access to Work?
Access to Work is a government scheme that offers help to individuals with a disability or health condition that affects their working capabilities. Access to Work advisers can give the employee and their employer, advice and support with extra costs that may arise because of the individuals needs.
Access to Work could pay towards equipment, adapting premises or for a support worker. It can also pay towards the cost of getting to work if the individual is not able to use public transport.
For a person with a hearing impairment, the funding will go towards personal assistive equipment to use whilst at work.
Who is Access to Work for?
Access to Work may be available to people who are...
- - In a paid job
- - Unemployed and about to start work
- - Unemployed and about to start a work trial
- - Self-employed
...and their disability or health condition stops them from being able to do parts of their job. For those who are hard of hearing, this will take the form of not being able to fully participate at work due to the inability to communicate effectively.
