How Does The DigiSystem Work?

How the DigiSystem works

Essentially, the DigiSystem works in the same way as a traditional FM radio system in that the person who has a hearing loss wears a receiver and someone speaks into transmitter which has a microphone within it. Sound from the microphone is transmitted wirelessly to the person wearing the receiver.  Sound is then heard, crystal clear and without delay or echo, via the receiver. The receiver can be used with a neck loop, headphones or earphones, although options of ear pieces and hearing aid connectors are now/soon to be available.

The Comfort DigiSystem exploits the advantages of digital technology to the maximum. Captured by the microphone, sound is processed, speech is clarified and annoying background noise is eliminated. The Comfort DigiSystem is revolutionary because of its use of Secure Stream Technology (SST). SST eliminates the problems that exist with traditional analogue FM transmission. Read more about the differences between SST and traditional analogue FM.

The DigiSystem Family consists of a variety of transmitters, receivers and accessories. As a result, the hearing impaired person has the opportunity to customise a system in accordance with their personal needs and requirements - whatever the situation or however complex the listening environment. Digi Conference Microphone

Advantages of the Comfort DigiSystem

  1. Impossible to eavesdrop. Due to the encrypted nature of the digital transmission, it is impossible to eavesdrop on conversations that are transmitted via the DigiSystem. This means that the DigiSystem is the ideal kit in locations such as court rooms, police stations, and anywhere that confidentiality is paramount.
  2. Flexible and versatile. Due to the family of DigiSystem units, the equipment can be used in portable, fixed and multi user environments. View the full range of Digi Units here.
  3. Suited to all types of hearing instrument. The DH-10 Handset Receiver can be used via a neck loop if you have hearing aids with a 'T' switch. Or the DH-10 receiver can be used with head/earphones. The DE-10 Earset Receiver is for people who don't like wearing hearing aids or who wear C-I-C (Completely in the Canal) and I-T-E (In the Ear) hearing aids. The DT-10 Connector Receiver is designed for people who wear B-T-E (Behind the Ear) hearing aids with an audio shoe (we can supply audio shoes)
  4. Stylish and discreet design. The DigiSystem is worlds away from the chunky and cumbersome assistive listening devices that have dominated the assistive hearing field in past years. Resembling a stylish mp3 player, the DigiSystem is discreet and fits especially well with the professional work and student image.

In What Situations Is The DigiSystem Most Commonly Used?

The Comfort DigiSystem is a truly universal and flexible assistive hearing system. The DigiSystem can be used in ALL situations and environments: by individual users for personal home, work or study purposes; in multi-user cases for public buildings and organisations that must, by law, provide a service for people with a hearing impairment; or in more specific formations such as Touring Guide Systems for heritage sites and museums.

Personal Systems:

The Comfort DigiSystem is most commonly used by individuals who wish to ensure that no matter where they are or what they are doing, they are empowered to hear what they need to hear. Too often, assistive hearing equipment installed in public buildings is not working properly or employer knowledge of the system is low or non-existent. This automatically puts people with hearing loss at a disadvantage to their normal hearing counterparts.

We at Gordon Morris Ltd. encourage on one hand the absolute necessity of high quality, full operational, and thoroughly maintained hearing equipment in public spaces. However, if this is not possible, we encourage people with a hearing impairment to have their own personal assistive listening device that automatically enables them to exercise control over what they can hear and how successfully they can communicate with others.

The DigiSystem can help for personal use at home (watching TV, using mobile or landline phones); for studying purposes; or for work purposes. Individual users can receive funding for the DigiSystem via the Disabled Students' Allowance and Access to Work schemes.

The DigiSystem is so flexible, any combination of units can be chosen by the individual - view our full range of units. Our DigiSystem Questionnaire has been designed to make the process of finding the right system for your need as simple and easy as possible.

DigiSystem Multi-User or Tour Guide Case

Multi-User Systems:

The Comfort DigiSystem can be used for larger buildings and rooms whereby a number of hearing aid users may wish to access the benefits of amplified and clarified speech. The DigiSystem is especially useful for locations where secrecy is an important issue, for example if confidential information is being shared. Locations where this would be the case are court rooms, police stations and hospitals.

Our expert technicians will come to your site and provide consultation and survey services, with a comprehensive report and quotation resulting from this. Training is also provided by our technical team, ensuring that proper management and care of the system is carried out by the responsible parties. Simply contact our team to arrange a consultation and to find out costs.

Digi Tour Guide Cases:

The DigiSystem Tour Guide Case has been popular since its' arrival at the beginning of this year. The National Trust have purchased a Digi Tour Guide Case and we will continue to promote this fantastic piece of equipment across the Engligh Museum and Heritage market.

Essentially the case consists of one microphone and as many receivers as required. More or less microphones and receivers can be added at any point. The equipment is completely portable and very simple to use. Key lock facility means that receiver users can't change or fiddle with settings.
