You want life to be a little easier
We have the tools to make it happen
Our Managing Director Gordon has coped with hearing impairment since an early age. He knows only too well the frustrations and difficulties that deafness can create. It is this first hand experience that motivated him to set up the company and that has driven us forward for over twenty years.
Gordon has used his personal understanding and his technical knowledge to select this range of equipment. Our domestic products have been chosen for the simple benefits they can bring to hearing impaired people- watching television in comfort, being able to use the telephone, hearing more clearly in meetings. Each product helps to make everyday tasks that little bit easier, for the individual who wants more from life, at home and at work. Discreet, easy-to-use and stylish, our technology helps you to get the most from life, every day
There are two main categories of deafness, depending on where in the ear the problem lies. Conductive deafness describes hearing impairment caused by sound being unable to pass through the outer and middle parts of the ear. For instance, blockages in the air space around the eardrum, or damage to the ossicles could affect the passage of vibrations.
Sensorineural deafness indicates a problem with the inner ear. Damage to the cochlea and the hairs inside it can cause hearing problems, as sound is not detected properly by nerve cells. The inner ear deteriorates naturally with age and is damaged by repeated exposure to excessive noise.
Traditionally, people with hearing impairment have been helped to communicate using lip-reading, auditory training and sign language. More recently however, there has been an increased reliance on technological solutions. Newer hearing aids and other innovative devices have been developed and digital technology is opening up new avenues for better communication.
